Design starts from the very beginning, with the choice of the animal model that best fits to the specific project. If it is not readily available, the development and standardization of a completely new model or the modification/optimization of an existing οne is considered.
The animal model choice is followed by the development of an experimental protocol covering programming and execution details, including duration, drug preparation, dosing schemes and administration routes, in vivo and ex vivo readouts, ethical and legislative issues etc.
Data processing and analysis is followed by evaluation and interpretation of the results so that next steps take the most of past.
